I shop online at a lot of different e-retailers for gear. I’ve scored some great deals from places like evogear.com
, Altrec.com
and BoardParadise.com. I am searching for new bindings this winter and was so dead set on Rome Madisons, but I’m trying to expand my horizons to others like Union and Raiden. So I headed to TightBoards.com which was giving me loads of problems and decided to check out the other family of sites (CrossRoads Sports in North Carolina) including BoardParadise.com. Which, is now non-existent. Did they go under? And what’s with the TightBoards site? Anyone know anything?
They were forced into Chapter 7 Bankruptcy by the companies they carry. Which is good that shop has something like 500 claims against them with the SC BBB. Those guys deserve everything that happened to them.

I ordered a bunch of stuff from them in the past with no problems, then they had their 50% off everything scam. I ordered a whole laundry list of items for what I thought was dirt cheap. Then a box came with one T-shirt in it. I called to see what was up and was told I would get the balance of the items back on my credit card. Never happend of course and where are they now?

Wow. I have never had a problem. I picked up my newest deck from them at a ridiculous price. Probably why they couldn’t pay their creditors. I think I recently ordered a lot of other stuff (tools, wax, socks) for crazy prices and they came is separate shipments, I got everything and I wasn’t overcharged. I guess I was very lucky. Sorry to hear that man.

I agree, after complaints I have read, they deserve it.

I ordered shoes June 12th. They charged my credit card immediately, then told me the shoes were out of stock. They sent an email saying they’d credit my card and they never did. All my calls and letters went unanswered. They’re a bunch of thieves.

The same thing happened to me. Can we press legal action or is it done with.

ABSOLUTE CROOKS .. LOST ONLY $28.99 ON A PURCHASE THAT WAS “OUT OF STOCK” THEN GIVEN A STORE CREDIT AND OF COURSE THEY ARE LONG GONE !!!
Comment by webbknight — September 29, 2009 @ 5:58 pm
All this is unbelievable. I bought a Rome snowboard received it no problem in the spring. Then in like June or July, I bought about $70 worth of stuff (socks, shirts, hat, dress). I received it all and the dress was actually ripped. Called, got my return authorization, and got the credit for the purchase on my card within a few weeks after shipping the item back. I think I got really, really lucky. I really wonder if you guys can do anything about it. I see consumer warnings, but haven’t stumbled upon any way to bring legal action. I’m sure if enough people got together you could.

If they have charged you for things you didn’t receive, contact your credit card company. They all have ways to dispute charges. It may take time, but it is part of the buyers protection of VISA, Mastercard, etc. If you used a debit/check card, contact your bank but know that you may have a harder time getting your $ back. That’s why I NEVER order on-line with my check card.
Just an FYI, I always had good luck getting deals from BoardParadise.com. However, about the time they were forced into bankruptcy (Aug 20, 2009) somebody tried to charge airline tickets to my credit card. My c.c. company caught it and called me (just like in the commercials). They hadn’t allowed the charge and reissued me a new card/number. The only placed I’d used that card all year was… Boardparadise.com

watch out these guys are regrouping as bprideshop.com probably more of the same service, they say new management but same old stuff it sounds like
Comment by watchin' — October 10, 2009 @ 4:16 pm
Yes, the above comment is right. bprideshop.com is the SAME company essentially, the same crook is running it and will do the same bait and switch scam that he has been running for years. spread the word, don’t shop there.
Comment by former pissed employee — October 20, 2009 @ 11:41 am
just letting you guys know that boardparadise was at once a legit company. it’s not these guys and former employees but one guy Josh who ripped everyone off and is still doing it to this day. stealing from his own shops before being forced into bankruptcy and now opening new shops with stolen merchandise. so definitely watch out for this and don’t buy from the website or the stores. spread the word and keep a crooked good for nothing out of our industry.
Comment by snowboardguy — October 22, 2009 @ 7:17 pm
This guy screwed the great companies who build us incredible product out of millions of dollars….and he’s proud of it. If you see him, ask him about the porsche he bought in the days after he filed bankruptcy. He’s now opened BP Ride Shop and BPRideshop.com with the goods he stole from his former bankrupt corporation. He’s bottom of the barrel scum of the earth and his days are numbered before the law catches up with him. Support your local stores who pay their bills and employ your friends and neighbors.
Comment by screwed — October 29, 2009 @ 3:59 pm
ATTENTION READERS! The former owner of BP is back in business somehow, not only is he operating “BPRIDESHOP.COM” but he also is running a site called AXISRIDESHOP.COM, spread the word, its the SAME shit scam he’s been running for years. its called bait and switch…….he sells you shit he doesn’t have, has his so called customer service reps talk you into something different. oh yea, and then he doesn’t pay the vendors that make the industry what it is and screws the local sales reps out of their commissions. support people who pay bills, don’t shop at either of these sites and spread the word.

having the store near by was wicked, cheap stuff and o worries about being scammed. i liked boardparadise, bring it back
Comment by keir — November 12, 2009 @ 7:39 pm
It seems like most of the negative feedback on here about boardparadise is from the same guy. This guy is leaving all the same comments on alot of our other forums. Get over it dude. It sucks if you had a bad experience, but I’m sure the guy who owned it fell into bad times in this recession like most people. No need to roast him over and over. How much time do you spend on this anyway? I never had a problem with the things I ordered. Crazy cheap prices too. It was pretty awesome. I will def be checking out the new site and will let you guys know if there are problems.

i find it funny that your dawgin that dude for spending his time hatin on boardparadise when you’ve done the same thing…spending time posting the same thing everywhere. and by the way, the “crazy cheap prices” screw over reps, manufacturers and other shops, so its not that cool to sell below msrp before the accepted date
Comment by lamer — November 13, 2009 @ 10:11 pm
The real problem is these guys never cared about the customer or the sport, took orders for stuff they didn’t have and then wouldn’t give refunds, never shipped some of the orders and would never handle complaints or refunds kept spending $$$ on themselves and in the end stiffed the customers, employees and manufacturers while they are busy gettin’ a new business runnin’ to do it again….I’m jest sayin’ be careful before you jump back on board with these guys…there are plenty of good honest websites and good local shops that care about you and will sell you the right stuff and stand behind you and your gear rather than screwin’ you in the end if you don’t think you’re gonna get screwed think again it’s just a matter of time
Comment by watchin — November 16, 2009 @ 5:18 pm
I also got screwed over by boardparadise. Ordered a bunch of stuff to make it worth my while, as shipping to Canada is typically fairly ridiculous. Got an email just before they shipped saying they didn’t have 3 of the 4 things I ordered. They offered a store credit and I asked for my money back, it never happened.
